Finally, We Got to the New Yankee Stadium

Bud and Ben, April 30, 2011
Eric Chavez
Today the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4. Eric Chavez drove in a run and broke up a potential double play that helped lead to three more, making the most of a spot start. Derek Jeter hit a sacrifice fly, and Curtis Granderson, Russell Martin and Brett Gardner also drove in runs for the Yankees, who played small ball to perfection against Toronto.

A. J.
A. J. Burnett (4-1) pitched 6 innings. Joba did the 7th, Soriano did not crash and burn in the 8th and Mariano Rivera earned his 9th save.

But the day was about a father and son returning to the Bronx to see the Yanks again. Ben picked me up and drove us to New Haven where we hopped on a train that dropped us off at The House That George Built. We loved the new place, and while being more comfortably it has all the charm and feel off the old ballpark. I literally got home from the four o'clock an hour ago. Here are more photos that I shot. (I did not shoot the Burnett photo.)
